John Tench


was born in Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.A. and grew up in Canada, where he began working in theatre and film in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. John has been acting in Stage, Television and Film since the late seventies. He began his career in Toronto and quickly moved on to study and work in New York City, London England, Los Angeles and throughout Europe and Canada.

He founded the influential theatre company Theatre Kathartic in !980, performing and touring shows internationally. He moved to Vancouver B.C. and from there down to L.A. in the early nineties. Along with his many film and television appearances, working with great directors as Ang Lee, Antoine Fuqua, Arthur Hiller and many others, John has also worked with numerous theatre companies in North America and Europe as an Actor, Director, Writer and Producer. He has produced, written and directed several short films.

John has been nominated for numerous awards in the best actor category. His is a master of accents and dialects and has voiced a great many cartoons and foreign language films.

John has also written a number of screenplays and is a published poet. Among his other many interests are painting and music. He plays the guitar, banjo, harmonica, tuba and a few others. He is an avid outdoors-man, fisherman, and canoeist. He divides his time and work between Toronto, Vancouver, L.A. and Europe.
